Resources represent the jobs, financial investments, secured assets, estates and other holdings that a character uses to sustain her lifestyle and obtain a regular income. There are several primary ways a character can use the Resources Background, though truly powerful uses of Resources are best left to downtimes and moderation between game sessions.

  • By spending temporary Resources Traits you can draw on your regular income as shown in the accompanying table. Using Resourcesto get cash is limited to $30,000per month.How you reach that sum total over the course of a month is entirely up to you.
  • Spending temporary Resource Traits can act as additional Traits of Influence for use as a Boost Influence action on a1-for-1 basis. The use of Resources in this manner represents bribery, extortion, fringe benefits, perks, wining and dining and other forms of financial incentive within that area of influence to make it more potent. In order to use Resources as a BoostInfluence Action, a character must possess at least one Trait of Influence in the category that they are using Boost.
  • Spending temporary Resource Traits can act as additional Traits of Influence for use as aGrowth Influence action on a 1-for-1 basis. The use of Resources in this manner represents all forms of financial investment into that area of influence to make it Grow. In order to use Resources as a Growth Influence Action, a character must possess at least one Trait of Influence in the category that they are using Growth.
  • Spending temporary Resource Traits can act as additional Traits of Influence for use as aWatch Influence action on a 1-for-1 basis. The use of Resources in this manner represents all forms of financial payments into that area of influence to receive reports on what goes on. In order to use Resources as a Watch Influence Action, a character must possess at least one Trait of Influence in the category that they are using Watch.
  • If you expend permanent Resources Traits, you can divest yourself of holdings, allowing access to 10 times the amount shown on the table. However, the limits of what you can buy are always adjudicated by the Storyteller.
  • Character may use cash to emulate a Boost Influence Action. Every $10,000 in cash so used emulates one Trait of Influence that can be used to Boost.In order to use cash to emulate a Boost Influence Action, a character must possess at least one Trait of Influence in the category that they are using cash to Boost.

0 Poverty. $200. Get roommates and a bus pass.
1 Small savings and holdings. $500. You have an apartment and a cheap means of transportation.
2 Modest savings and holdings. $1,000. You have a condo and a motorcycle or modest car.
3 Significant savings and holdings. $3,000.You own a house and car.
4 Large savings and holdings. $10,000. You own a large house or some small properties, two vehicles, some luxuries and unusual items.
5 Rich. $30,000. You own an estate and grounds, multiple small properties, several vehicles, treasures and luxury items.
